Lavender is one of many flowering plants in the mint family and is often grown for use in ornamental gardens or landscaping, as a culinary herb, and commercially grown for the extraction of essential oil. Lavender essential oil is one of the most popular and versatile of all of the essential oils. The fragrance is floral, herbaceous, fresh and light with a balsamic woody undertone, and is often used in aromatherapy and in the formulation of lotions, soaps, salves and balms.
Lavender essential oil can be used in a diffuser or diluted in a carrier oil.
